Spring morning in Winsford, Exmoor

by on

This was Winsford on Exmoor earlier this year in late spring at mid-morning. I love this little packhorse bridge and I make no apology for getting all the chocolate box elements into the picture. There is a picture looking the other way to be had - it looks across the packhorse bridge down a short bit of road towards the Royal Oak pub and I must’ve hoped to get it six or seven times but there’s always a car parked either in the short road or outside the pub or both. I know that conventionally we landscape photographers are supposed to do everything at dawn or dusk but I’ve always felt there’s something to be said for full sunshine, especially in towns and villages where the long shadows of morning or evening fall across other buildings.
